Today, despite a snowy early morning, the children of Assumption Church enjoyed a special visit from St. Nicholas, the fourth-century Bishop of Myra, known for his kindness and tireless efforts to help the poor.
Following the Divine Liturgy, parishioners enjoyed a play entitled “The Three Bags of Gold,” presented by the parish youth under the direction of our parish Sisters Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matará. After the play, several children recited poems and sang songs in honor of their beloved saint and were joyfully rewarded with gifts.
We extend our sincere thanks to the parish Holy Name Society for sponsoring this event. The Ukrainian National Women’s League of America (UNWLA), Branch 135, also prepared a delicious light luncheon, which helped raise funds for Ukraine.
St. Nicholas also thanks for help to the backstage crew and everyone involved.
