This year, the parishioners and guests of our parish were blessed to witness a powerful and spiritually uplifting presentation of the traditional Ukrainian Vertep (Nativity play).
Our parish youth, with sincerity and devotion, brought the story of Christ’s birth to life, filling the church with a prayerful spirit and the living hope that Emmanuel—God with us—is near, especially in the suffering of the Ukrainian people. The Vertep was beautifully organized by Sister Veronica, Superior of the parish convent, with the help of Sisters Svitanku and Triytsi, the parish youth group, and our pastor Fr. Ivan. For two months prior to Christmas, the youth worked diligently on a unique script, while the Sisters lovingly sewed the costumes and guided twice-weekly rehearsals and prayer gatherings. The stunning costumes, excellent sound, and dedicated performances captivated all who attended.
In the afternoon, the carolers continued their mission by visiting the homes of parishioners, bringing peace, hope, and God’s blessing into each household.
Since the beginning of the war in 2014, thousands of Ukrainian servicemen and servicewomen have been forced to spend Christmas on the frontline, far from their homes and loved ones. Our parish youth caroled with them in mind, offering both humanitarian support and the joy and hope of Christmas.
All for the glory of God. Christ is Born! Glorify Him!
