Rare Footage of Bishop Mykola

We came across this interesting rare footage from a 1937 British newsreel featuring Ukrainian Catholic Servant of God, Bishop Mykola Charnetsky (1884-1959). In the newsreel, Bishop Mykola is celebrating an outdoor Divine Liturgy at the Roman Catholic Cathedral in Liverpool, England, which was then under construction.

Eight years after this event, on the night of April 12, 1945, Bishop Mykola was arrested in Ukraine by the Soviet secret police, the NKVD, along with other Ukrainian Catholic bishops and clergy.
