Retired?…Kids gone?…Bored?…
Happy women and men needed for our Ukrainian Assumption Seniors Club that offers social gatherings for the 55 and over of Ukrainian Assumption Church. At our monthly meetings we address senior issues with guest speakers from the community. Three times during the year, the Seniors sponsor a weekend bus trip to an Atlantic City Casino. This gives them another opportunity for parish seniors to enjoy each other’s company and an enjoyable outing. Seniors extend their loving concern to others as well. When they hear that members of the club have experienced sickness or a death in the family, they send cards, notes and make phone calls of support. They also give donations to worthy ministries and programs in our parish. At the meeting in September, Joan Zaleski, President of the Ukrainian Assumption Seniors welcomed three new members of the club and then all members offered prayers for the victims of September 11. At the end of the meeting a delicious luncheon was arranged by Eleanor Kataryniak. All senior citizens are invited to join the club. If anyone is interested in joining, please call Joan Zaleski or the church office. Simply come on a second Thursday of the month to the church hall at 12 noon and meet some wonderful new friends and enjoy the company of old friends.
